About Matt

The Hedrick Family

Matt Hedrick is the Senior Leader of Bethany Church in Bloomington, Minnesota. Originally from Canada, Matt moved to the Minneapolis area to attend Bethany College of Missions, a small Bible School affiliated with Bethany Church. During his final year of Missions and Bible studies at Bethany, he spent a year living in Slovenia (former Yugoslavia) working alongside church planters in the capital city of Ljubljana. Upon returning to the US in 1996, Matt enrolled at Bethel Seminary in St. Paul where he earned his M.A. in Christian Thought. Around the same time, he began working at Bethany Church and became it’s Senior Pastor in March of 2003.

He is married to Noemi and has two children. Noemi was born in Montevideo, Uruguay but spent most of her life in Canada as well. Matt and Noemi met in January of 1999 and were married on Canada Day (July 1st) 2000. His wife Noemi is a professional photography (and serious blogger!) – and also cares for their two children (Adriah Liberty born in April of 2005 and Leyton O’Neal born in April of 2008.)
